Bonjour from a French clown who has returned to her real home, Los Angeles. I’m going to save all the good clown stories for the podcast (out Thursday) because they’re much funnier with accents. For now, enjoy what kept me going when I was lonely in France.
Sad Clown Salad - I ate this salad roughly every day because it was in season and incredibly delicious. Thinly slice purple cabbage, radishes and some pink lady apple and toss in EVOO, grainy mustard, vinegar, s&p. Easy and honestly good enough to serve at a dinner party.
Clown school was ravaged by Covid and somehow I managed to avoid it. I’ve decided to credit the amount of thyme tea I was drinking (several cups per day). It’s anti inflammatory and immune boosting and does loads of other things. I love how it tastes but it’s very herby and strong so I can’t promise you’ll like it. Try with lemon and honey if you’re a happy combo of curious/scared.
I did not have the time to cook beans from scratch while away but I managed to find some delicious jarred Lupini beans for my salads. Lupini beans are from Italy and a top 5 bean for me. They’re high in fiber and protein and the brand Brami pickles them for snacking and salads. They’re a more expensive bean purchase but worth it if you have a long day and need a healthy snack to keep you going.
I watched Paddington and Paddington 2 twice when I was feeling extra down. Perfect films!
I want a Nespresso machine but I think Noah will be annoyed if I buy one. What should I do?
So glad that salad and bean content survives clown school!
